Previously, the leadership of Viettel consisted of Chairman and CEO – Mr. Tao Duc Thang; and Deputy General Director – Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien; Mr. Do Minh Phuong and Mr. Dao Xuan Vu.

Mr. Cao Anh Son, born in 1975, joined Viettel in 2000 as an engineer in the Technical Department. Over his 24 years with Viettel, Mr. Son has held several significant positions, including Head of Billing Department, Director of the International Business Center of Viettel Telecom, Deputy Head of the Group's Information Technology Department, Deputy General Director of Viettel Global Investment Corporation (VTG), and CEO of Viettel Star Telecom (Unitel). Prior to his appointment, he was the CEO of Viettel Telecom (VTT).

Mr. Nguyen Dat, born in 1981, is currently the youngest member of Viettel’s Executive Board. Mr. Dat joined Viettel in 2008, advancing through various roles from system administration to managerial positions, holding key responsibilities. He has twice served as Head of the Group's Technical Department and led Viettel Network Corporation (VTNet) on two occasions. Mr. Dat also held positions as CEO of Movitel (Viettel Mozambique) and CEO of Viettel Global Investment Corporation (VTG). Before his recent appointment, he was the CEO of Viettel Network Corporation.
