Hanoi, April 26, 2023 – In the first 4 months of the year, Viettel Group was granted 4 exclusive patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), increasing the total number of patents granted by the most demanding country in the world to 23.
Only in 2022 and the first quarter of 2023, Viettel has 14 more patents granted in the US, 1.5 times higher than the total number of patents granted in the previous 3 years. Viettel is currently the Vietnamese enterprise with the most patents protected exclusively by the US, covering all three fields of military, civil and telecommunications.
According to the Vietnam National Office of Intellectual Property, Viettel is one of the leading enterprises in patent registration in Vietnam with 505 patent applications and 94 granted. The average growth rate of Viettel's patent applications is 1.5 times higher than that of Vietnam, in the period 2017-2022.
With the goal of becoming a global technology corporation, Viettel aims to promote innovation activities and scientific research so that Make in Vietnam, Made by Viettel products develop in parallel with the world. Patented inventions are all practical and highly applicable in both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
Among Viettel's inventions, inventions with female authors account for 20.5%. At Viettel, women participate in most of the Group's scientific research activities.
