The ADC Undersea Cable has length of 9,800 km, a capacity of over 140 Tbps, using the most modern transmission technology today, helping to connect countries in the Asia-Pacific region with a total initial investment of 290 million USD.
This is the undersea cable with the largest bandwidth capacity in Vietnam, 3 times higher than APG (Asia Pacific Gateway), the largest currently-used cable by domestic enterprises. It connects Vietnam, Hong Kong (China), Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
The ADC undersea cable connects countries and territories in Asia-Pacific region.
ADC is the 5th Undersea Cable investment to date by Viettel Group, in cooperation with major international telecommunications groups including Singtel, China Telecom, SoftBank, China Unicom, NT, PLDT, TATA Communications to jointly invest and construct the ADC system. It is known that Viettel is the only Vietnamese member to invest in this ADC undersea fiber optic cable, accordingly, the landing station in Quy Nhon will also be the third undersea cable station Viettel owns exclusively.
Doan Dai Phong, Deputy General Director of Viettel Business Solutions Corporation (Viettel Solutions) - a member of Viettel Group, said: "After completing the landing, the undersea cable route ADC will be officially put into commercial exploitation in 2023 by Viettel. Thereby, Viettel affirms to be the pioneer in building and developing digital infrastructure in Vietnam, promoting comprehensive digital transformation, meeting the demand for high-speed data transmission, and applying 4.0 technologies. effectively and ensure the security of national communications.”
Tran Kim Kha - Director of Binh Dinh's Department of Information and Communications emphasized: "I consider this to be a particularly important national security project, contributing to the development of telecommunications and information technology infrastructure, we will continue to accompany Viettel and authorities, to ensure the safety of the undersea cable route ADC."
Along with those existing cable system, the ADC Undersea Cable is expected to add 18Tbps to total international capacity of Viettel Group contributing to providing a large amount of high speed international capacity from Vietnam to the world, meeting the requirement of high speed connection demanding applications to name a few Internet of Things, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality,.. At the same time, ensuring network redundancy and qualification of all the service provided by Viettel Group simultaneously. Thereby, affirming the No.1 position of Viettel Group in terms of Vietnam international infrastructure.
Up to now, Viettel has invested in submarine cable projects including AAE-1, TGN-IA, APG, AAG and ADC.
