Prior to this, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) in Barcelona, Spain, both parties had the opportunity to discuss, share, and explore potential cooperation areas at Viettel's booth.
The cooperation agreement aims for both companies to create significant value and enhance service quality for customers. Specifically, in the field of 5G research and development, the two sides will collaborate to develop 5G solutions, including both software and hardware. In the area of cloud computing, Supermicro will provide hardware while Viettel will supply software to develop Private Cloud solutions for customers. Both parties will also develop high-performance, energy-efficient server solutions tailored to specific customer groups, applying AI to enhance telecommunications quality, data centers, and business processes.
Viettel has experience in telecommunications operations, currently mastering all equipment in the 5G ecosystem, including radio access equipment, transmission devices, and core network systems, making Vietnam the fifth country in the world to master 5G technology. Supermicro is known for its strengths in server development, providing server management software, high-performance and efficient storage systems to many partners, along with advanced computing solutions to meet the growing needs of businesses and organizations. The combination of both is expected to promote and deploy widespread 5G networks across Vietnam.
The Computex Taipei exhibition is an annual event since 1981, gathering future technology trends with the participation of over 1,000 developers from 26 countries, creating a true technology playground.
